Wadadah lead Negril into return leg
PAUL A REID, Observer West writer
Thursday, May 08, 2008

MONTEGO BAY, St James-

Former champions Wadadah FC will take a 1-0 lead into Saturday's return leg of the Captain's Bakery Western Confederation Super League against Negril FC at Jarrett Park.

Rohan Reid's goal gave the Montego Bay club the edge in the first leg played nearly two weeks ago in Negril and they will hope to seal the title this weekend.

Wadadah, the two-time National Premier League champions were demoted from the island's top club competition last season and is seeking to make a quick return.

The winners of the Western Confederation Super League will advance to the Premier League play-off against the other three Confederation winners for the two promotion places next season.

Wadadah had knocked out last season's champions Granville on penalty kicks after a last-minute error by the Granville goalkeeper in the return-leg semi-finals allowed them to force extra time.

Negril had overturned a first-leg deficit to beat Salt Spring and advance to the finals for the third time in four years.
