FALMOUTH , Trelawny

The Wakefield Primary School Parent Teachers' Association (PTA) is to honour retired school principal, Bruce Dale, for his outstanding contribution to education, at an appreciation dinner on Saturday, at the Star Fish Resort, near Falmouth.

Dale retired as principal of that institution last year, after serving 32 years in that post.

A recipient of the Prime Minister's Medal of Appreciation for long and outstanding service, Dale, began his illustrious teaching career at Refuge All Age School in Trelawny, 44 years ago.

He later taught at the Charlton All-Age School in St Ann, before taking up a senior teaching post at the Boys Town All-Age School in Kingston.

In 1969, Dale returned to Trelawny to take up an appointment, as principal of the Wakefield Primary School in the parish.

A former Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) councillor for the Wakefield division, Dale said that he is honoured to have served the Wakefield community with distinction.
"After serving the area for so long, I have no regrets at all. I haven't had any bad experiences and I am very happy to have served ," he told the Observer West yesterday.
