Chantilly Primary School gets computers
Members of the New York-based Chantilly Primary School Alumni Association has donated 32 computers to their alma mater.
The computers, several volumes of books and other gifts will be officially handed over at a reunion that will be staged at the school next month.
Since the inception of the association almost two years ago, several initiatives have been pursued at the school with help from interest groups in the community, private sector groups and the government. Among the proposals put on the table by the past students is the refurbishing of the existing building and construction of additional classrooms as the present ones are inadequate.
The New York arm of the association works in collaboration with the local chapter that recently elected its new executive.
The members are: Trevor Jamieson — president; Deron Lee — vice president; Roselyn Johnson — secretary; Michael Rowe — assistant secretary; Kevin Stewart — treasurer; Sharon Crooks — assistant treasurer and; Cedric Johnson — public relations officer.
