Eight Ritz-Carlton employees off to Doha
EIGHT line employees from the Ritz-Carlton Rose Hall Hotel have been transferred to the soon-to-be opened 374-room Ritz-Carlton property in Doha, Qatar.
They are Conrod Black, Kenroy Jones, Christopher Caldeen, Christopher Shippy, Nicole Wellington, Dalton Barronnette, Mark Johnson and Courtney Sutton.
The group was recently feted by the general manager, Doug Brooks, at an elaborate going away party at the Ritz-Carlton Ballroom Terrace.
The eight employees worked in the resort’s Front Office, Activities, Laundry and Guest Services departments.
“These ladies and gentlemen played an integral role in the overwhelming success of the 427-room luxury resort and have proven themselves as true world-class service professionals,” said Brooks. “They have demonstrated their dedication to the improvement and growth of our hotel and Jamaica’s tourism. Therefore, with their incredible talent I have no doubt that they will make a valuable and significant contribution to the opening of The Ritz-Carlton Doha. They will be true ambassadors for Jamaica.”
Scheduled to open in late 2001, The Ritz-Carlton Doha is located in the United Arab Emirates. The resort overlooks the Arabian Gulf and is situated just 10 minutes from downtown Doha and 20 minutes from the airport.
The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company has more than 20 hotels and resorts under development around the world, and these are scheduled to open within the next two years. Many of these will offer opportunities for transfers to the ladies and gentlemen of The Ritz-Carlton Rose Hall, Jamaica.
Set along a dazzling stretch of beach on Jamaica’s north coast, The Ritz-Carlton Rose Hall, Jamaica combines old world appeal with an inviting sense of Caribbean charm. Offering the seclusion of a beachfront hideaway, the 427-room resort opened August 25, 2000.
Business and leisure travellers can choose from 16,745 square feet of meeting and function space, the 18-hole championship White Witch golf course designed by Robert von Hagge and Rick Baril, a full-service spa and tennis centre and the nearby Half Moon Bay shopping centre.
