Man fatally shot
ONE of a group of men who were reportedly caught removing building material from premises in Mandeville, Manchester was fatally shot by a policeman on Wednesday.
He has been identified as Christopher Lamont, 28, of New Green in the parish.
The police reported that at about 4:30 am, the policeman visited premises which he owned at Cedar Way, and on which construction material was stored. He was reportedly greeted with gunfire from a group of men, who were allegedly removing sheets of zinc from the premises.
The fire was returned by the lawman and the men ran. A search of the area was made and Lamont was found suffering from gunshot wounds. He was taken to the Mandeville Regional Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Skeletal remains found in Palmers Cross
THE skeletal remains of a human were found in bushes in Palmers Cross, Clarendon on Tuesday.
The police reported that at about 11:00 am, two youngsters went to pick mangoes in a section of the community when they came upon the gruesome find. A pair of grey jeans pants were found near the scene.
The police were alerted and the remains removed for forensic analysis and identification.
