Taximan accused of killing cop’s daughter faces court tomorrow
BYLMARK Hamilton, the 27 year-old taxi operator who is accused of the murder of a 17 year-old student of the Old Harbour High School in St Catherine, is booked to appear in the Old Harbour Resident Magistrate’s Court tomorrow, to answer the charge.
Hamilton, of 56 Marlin Terrace in Old Harbour Villa, St Catherine, is accused of murdering Kadean Elson, the daughter of a policeman.
Hamilton was charged on Tuesday night by the Old Harbour police, after several days of intensive interrogation by the police.
Allegations are that on August 28, Kadean left her home at Rose Hall District in Clarendon to go to the hairdresser in Old Harbour. However, when she failed to return home later in the day, she was reported missing by her father at the Old Harbour police station the following day.
On August 30, her partially decomposing body was found at about 3:00 in the afternoon in Epson District, St Mary, with a piece of string tied around her neck. An autopsy which was conducted on her body revealed that she was strangled.
The accused man was held at premises in Old Harbour Glades on September 2.
Kadean was scheduled to begin sixth form this term at the Old Harbour High School. She was buried yesterday.
