Jamaica Junior Chamber conference for Trelawny
WESTERN BUREAU — Former Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) senators, Ossie Harding and Ryan Peralto are among a group of politicians to be honoured by the Jamaica Junior Chamber at its 38th state convention later this month.
The convention is scheduled for September 19 to 21 at the Starfish Hotel in Trelawny.
The politicians, Junior Chamber international senators, have earned life membership in the organisation and will be recognised for their contribution to the nation.
Meanwhile, president of the Hopewell Junior Chamber, Solaine Doeman, said this year’s convocation will see over a hundred delegates from across the island participating in the range of seminars and workshops.
Mayor of Falmouth, Jonathan Bartley will officially open the function next Friday.
Custodes for Hanover, St James and Trelawny as well as members of the business community and board members of the various Junior Chamber chapters islandwide are expected to attend.
Plenary sessions will be held on Saturday and Sunday with the highlight of the weekend’s activities being an awards function on Saturday night and will be hosted by Pauline Haughton, president of the St Ann Chamber of Commerce.
The election of a new president and board of directors will take place on Sunday.
