WESTERN BUREAU – Troy Leslie, who is assigned to the Holiday Inn SunSpree Resort’s accounts department has been named the property’s employee of the year.

Maintenance supervisor, Gary Morris, was selected as supervisor of the year, while Richard Brown received the middle manager of the year award.

The three men took home prizes, which included a washing machine, television sets, DVD players, airline tickets and weekends at various resorts.

“I was surprised, I wasn’t expecting to win at all,” said the 27 year-old Leslie, who has worked with the resort for the past eight years.

He theorised that he was selected because of his hard work and dedication.

“I work from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm, and if I have to work longer hours, I do so without a murmur,” he explained.

During the three-hour awards ceremony, held in the hotel’s 520-room ballroom, over 40 employees were presented with prizes valued at over $1 million.
