Observer managing director Mark Pritchett (left) presents Jamaica Olympic Association president Mike Fennell with the newspaper’s commitment letter for a minimum of $250,000 based on newspaper sales to Jamaica’s Olympic effort. The presentation was made last night at the Observer’s Beechwood Avenue headquarters during the launch of the Observer’s Sporting World Olympic Daily coverage and an accompanying video titled ‘Every Day Matters’.

The Observer, using its popular Sporting World publication, will provide comprehensive and exclusive coverage of the 2004 Olympics in Athens, Greece next month, as Observer senior photographer, Bryan Cummings, is the only Jamaican photo journalist accredited for the games.

The video, starring ace dancehall deejays Baby Cham and Elephant Man, was produced by CGR Communications and sponsored by Digicel. The song was written by top music producer and songwriter, Mikey Bennett. The video started airing on TVJ last night and will be aired exclusively on that station through the games.
