Two held after fatal Falmouth stabbing await ID parade
WESTERN BUREAU – The two young men who were taken into police custody following last Thursday night’s fatal stabbing in Falmouth were, up to yesterday, still awaiting an identification parade.
However, it was not immediately clear when the parade would be held.
Kemar Salmon, alias “Cuban”, who is from Dome Lane in Montego Bay, was reportedly accosted by a group of men while he was riding a bicycle along Queen Street in Falmouth some time after 7:30 pm last Thursday.
The 22 year-old was subsequently held, beaten and stabbed several times by his attackers. He died later at the Cornwall Regional Hospital in the western resort city. The two men now in police custody were taken into lockup the following morning. They are currently being held on grounds of reasonable suspicion.
Meawnhile, the incident is believed to have stemmed from the ongoing gang feuds in the Trelawny town. These feuds have involved mostly teens from areas like Race Course, Dump and Compound and date back to last October.
