UK police offer $m bounty for alleged murderer
DETECTIVES in the United Kingdom believe that a man wanted for murder there, might have fled to Jamaica, and has offered a million dollar reward for information leading to an arrest.
The police believe Gary Salmon is somewhere on the island and last week appealed for help in finding him.
The 32-year-old from Nottingham, England, is wanted in connection with the death of Marvyn Bradshaw, 23. He was shot dead as he drove out of a pub car park with friends on August 30 last year.
Police believe that Bradshaw was a victim of mistaken identity. He was not involved in crime and worked six days a weeks as a shopfitter.
In July, Michael O’Brien, 23, was convicted of Marvyn’s murder and imprisoned for life, but the hunt for his accomplice continues.
Police in Nottinghamshire have offered a reward of more than J$1 million for information leading to Salmon’s arrest.
“Marvyn Bradshaw was a young man who had his whole life ahead of him. He was hard-working and was not involved in any criminality,” said Detective Chief Inspector Paul Cottee of the Nottinghamshire Police who is leading the hunt for Salmon. “His death shattered his family…. Nothing can ease their pain but the conviction of Michael O’Brien did at least deliver the justice they, and Marvyn, deserved,” the policeman said.
