Phone company to raise funds for AIDS charity
CABLE and Wireless yesterday announced that it will give Jamaica AIDS Support $8 from every $10-text message Jamaicans send to a dedicated phone number – 444-4AID (243) – between now and Saturday.
“Cable and Wireless will hand over $8 to Jamaica Aids Support for use in its ongoing programmes to fight the spread of HIV/AIDS, and to treat persons infected by the disease,” the company said in a news release.
The phone company said the number was open to fixed line customers as well as bmobile and other local providers.
