US librarian to speak at LIAJA workshop
SENIOR programme officer at the Washington-based Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS), Elaina Norlin will be the guest presenter at a Library and Information Association of Jamaica (LIAJA) workshop to be held on Friday at the Alhambra Inn in Kingston.
The workshop will be held as a precursor to the association’s 56th annual general meeting and will focus on the usability of library websites to enable its members and associates to develop their capacity in this area.
Norlin is a tenured librarian and a published author of books, book chapters and articles. She has presented over 30 papers, both nationally and internationally, on several topics including strategic planning, business planning, action data, marketing, recruitment strategies and usability testing. She is co-editor and author of the new book E-learning and Business Plans: National and International Case Studies and co-authored Usability Testing for Library Websites.
The LIAJA, has as its focus, a mission to create awareness of the primacy of up-to-date information in personal, commercial and national life and to promote the delivery of a quality library and information service.
