ADMINISTRATIVE bungling yesterday forced the court to postpone sentencing of Kevin “Richie Poo” Tyndale, the reputed former leader of the Gideon Warriors gang.

According to a senior member of the prosecution team, sentence was unable to be handed down by the judge because of a “procedural administrative glitch” regarding the antecedent – a document prepared by the police stating personal information about defendants.

According to the source, the antecedent was in fact not taken to court by the officer responsible to do so.

Tyndale, who was found guilty Monday for the murder of Jervis Lobban in Mudd Town, St Andrew in August 2003, is expected to be sentenced today.

The ex-gangster’s accomplice, Brenton Fletcher, of Highlight View in St Andrew, who was also found guilty of the August 2003 murder will also be sentenced today.

Tyndale is currently serving a 90-year sentence for the robbery and murder of a businessman in August Town, St Andrew in August 2003.

According to police, Tyndale is a suspect in several other major crimes, including murder and robbery and consequently may have several future court appearances.

Tyndale is alleged to have taken leadership of the Papine-based Gideon Warriors gang shortly after the 2004 capture of the gang’s former leader Joel Andem, who is currently serving a 20-year sentence for two counts of shooting and illegal possession of firearm and ammunition.

Gideon Warrior gang members had been linked by the police to several robberies, rapes, extortion and murders in the Papine/August Town areas.
