Another school for Hanover
Anthony McDonald, construction manager at the Urban Development Corporation (UDC), checks the steelwork girding the foundation of a classroom block at Orange Bay High School in Hanover.
The school is one of four being built in the parish under the $3.5-billion North Western Schools Programme implemented on behalf of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Culture by the UDC.
The project, on completion, will increase to 17 the number of basic, primary and high schools in Hanover, Westmoreland, St James and Trelawny.
A total of 11 schools have already been completed and handed over to the education ministry. They include the replacement Frome Technical High in Westmoreland; Irwin High and Primary, Success Primary, Spot Valley High, Green Pond Basic, Primary and High all in St James; and Holland High, and Hague Basic and Primary in Trelawny.
