Cops following several leads in Tuesday’s double murder
MONTEGO BAY, St James – Investigators probing Tuesday night’s double murder of police sergeant Huan Genus and his 26-year-old daughter, Shari, are yet to make any arrests or establish a motive for the killings.
However, according to John Morris, the superintendent of police in charge of Area One, detectives investigating the incident are following several leads.
“We are working very hard and putting several leads that we have together,” Morris told the Observer yesterday.
He declined to say, however, whether or not a breakthrough in the murders is expected soon.
Huan Genus, 52, who was assigned to the Clarks Town Police Station and Shari, a former TVJ reporter were gunned down in Stewart Castle, Trelawny, while they were on their way home.
Genus was the second policeman killed in Jamaica so far this year.
