Two mayors resign from NSWMA board
DELFORD Morgan, the mayor of Savanna-la-Mar, and his colleague from May Pen, Milton Brown, have resigned from the board of the National Solid Waste Management Authority (NSWMA).
The resignations announced yesterday, will take effect tomorrow.
Brown and Morgan are leaving the board of the waste collection agency less than a week after the controversial termination of the contract of the company’s executive director Errol Greene.
Sources said board members have been divided over the way Greene’s contract was cut, with some saying he should have been given the one-month notice stipulated in his contract.
A meeting, which was set up to resolve the board’s differences yesterday, was aborted.
