Heavy registration for 2nd Observer CXC Workshop
A total of 168 students are registered for the second annual Observer CXC Workshop scheduled for tomorrow at the Knutsford Court Hotel in Kingston.
The Observer was forced to close registration last week Friday after a flood of applications from eager students who will receive coaching from Valerie Morgan of Mico Teacher’s College who will open the general session at 10:00 am discussing examination preparation and techniques.
Morgan will also offer reading instructions, time management tips and effective exam writing instructions.
Break out sessions concentrating specifically on Mathematics and English A – two classes each in the morning and two classes each after lunch – will follow.
Lecturers include Doris Mayne of Hillel Academy, English; Jewell Coke of Ardenne High School, Math; Alexander Peart, Ardenne High, Math; and Paula Feraria from Wolmer’s Girls, English A.
The inaugural workshop was held at the Observer’s Beechwood Avenue head office last year. However, due to the demand, the newspaper was forced to move it to the Knutsford Court, which offers more space for the breakout sessions.
