The appointments, made by Governor General Prof Kenneth Hall, after consultation with Prime Minister Portia Simpson Miller and Leader of the Opposition Bruce Golding, were done as the authority is activated in preparation for the general elections to be held next Monday, September 3.
The four selected commissioners of the Electoral Commission of Jamaica will also comprise the Constituted Authority. They are Professor Errol Miller, chairman of the commission; Dr Herbert Thompson, president of Northern Caribbean University; Dorothy Pine McLarty, and Justice Clarence Walker (retired).
