City Knights meet City Lions Saturday
MONTEGO BAY, St James – Unbeaten City Knights and City Lions will meet on Saturday in the only game scheduled in the Western Basketball Association’s (WBA) Men’s Division Two League City Knights, starting at 4:00 pm.
City Knights who have won the two games they’ve played so far – a big win over March Town Spartans and a one-point edge over Trelawny Tornadoes – leads the points tables with four points, while City Lions is coming off their first win after beating Spartans 44-37 on Saturday and is on two points.
Tornadoes, who has won one and lost one, and Spartans are both on three points.
Despite not playing in two weeks, Knights – with their all-round powerful team will – start favourites to beat Lions and extend their unbeaten run.
Lions will be buoyed by their win over Spartans, but will have to dig deep if they are to create an upset.
Last weekend, City Lions’ Rohan Brown had a double-double of 12 points and 12 rebounds while Christopher Sterling scored 11 points to lead them to the win over Spartans.
Garfield Johnson scored 15 points to lead Spartans while Kadian Ferguson had nine points and eight rebounds.
