Last Tuesday, the TEENage Observer Expression Tour travelled to the southwest section of the island, to Black River High School in St Elizabeth. The students created a vibrant atmosphere as they displayed their talents through dance, dub poetry, singing and deejaying.

To jumpstart the performances were Asharie and Company showing off their cool dance moves. Next to take the stage was Heidiann with a poem, which sent a positive message encouraging students to stay away from drugs and guns.

Immediately following her was Benjamin, who had the crowd paying close attention to his lyrics as he deejayed on the clearance riddim. Young Timara Barnes then took to the stage with a poem that was not only short and spicy, but full of attitude and energy.

After being entertained by a few wicked dance moves by John Ross and company, the programme continued with Javid Howard showcasing his lyrical content with a DJ piece.

Following him was Mandie Salmon with a lovely poem then a dance treat by Lorenzo and company, moving there bodies to the song My Money by Merital.

To add heat to the already burning fire the host Cassania invited the students on stage to teach her the latest dance moves, as well as to answer trivia question from the TEENage Observer for a chance to win prizes. Two such prize winners were Kemarley Grant and Adannek Whyte.

As the judges tallied their scores, we enjoyed a fun game of musical chairs, which was won by Dwight Williams. Members of staff including Mr L Chang, Ms S Parchment and Ms S Powell took the opportunity to show the students their fun side, and engaged in a modelling competition.

With scores tallied, the third place went to Nicketa Steers for her great delivery of a song entitled Situations. Second place went to Soshana and Joshua, the duet sang and dramatised a song entitled I Want It Back. Tia and Tamara grabbed first place and the opportunity to represent Black River High at the TEENage Observer Expression Tour Showdown.

After the presentation to the winners were made, the Black River High school choir, which is currently in the all together sing competition showed TEENage that they are not only good on TV but in real-life as well.

The day ended with amazing performances from our guess artistes Mixing Lab and songstress Cherine Anderson who gave the students a day to be remembered! After the performances students rushed to the stage in order to obtain autographs from both Mixing Lab and Cherine Anderson.
