Trelawny Parish Council honours 16
FALMOUTH, Trelawny — The Trelawny Parish Council this week honoured 16 of its veteran and retired employees.
” Your legacies must be used as a catalyst in guiding future developments of the councils as well as in the delivery of service to the public. We must use our performance as a yard stick to measure the future path we take,” said TPC chairman and Mayor of Falmouth, Colin Gager.
Taking awards from the TPC’s Road and Works and Political directorate were:
*Wellington Reid for 15 years of service;
*Mancel Hutchinson with 18;
*Vernon Brown with 40 and
*Owen Speare with 40.
Five awards also went to employees of the TPC’s infirmary, namely:
* Evadney Blake for 15 years of service;
* Veronica McIntosh-Birch for 19;
* Delrose Fisher for 19;
* Sybil Frazer for 37 and
* Gloria Sutherland for 39.
Norma Lewis with 22 years of service was the sole awardee from the TPC’s Health department, while Verna Small was the sole awardee of the TPC’s Poor Relief department with 30 years.
The two awardees from the TPC’s Planning Department were Rosa Scott and Dorothy Thomas for 39 years of service each. Valerie DeOkoro’s 40 years in Administration earned her an award as did Paulette Scarlett’s 43 years in Accounts.
Special presentations were made to the Westwood High’s Ornecia Williams, the 2009 Junior Mayor and her deputy, the William Knibb High’s Shantelle Johnson.
