2 higglers killed in Falmouth
FALMOUTH, Trelawny–Two higglers were killed in unrelated incidents in this seaport town between Tuesday night and yesterday, pushing the murder tally in the parish to 34, since the start of this year.
The deceased have been identified as 24-year-old Denzil Thomas, also called “Crackers” of Race Course; and 23-year-old Keith Plummer also called “Daggerman” and “Duval” of Thorpe Street.
According to Corporal Patrick Chin, CCN liaison officer for Trelawny, yesterday at about 2:10 am, Thomas was at home with his girlfriend and children when someone who identified himself as police knocked.
Thomas opened the door and was pounced upon by two men attired in army fatigue and armed with a handgun. The men entered the house, demanded money, and took four cellular phones, before taking Thomas outside.
Explosions were heard and the police summoned. Upon the arrival of the police, Thomas’ body was found lying in a pool of blood, suffering from gunshot wounds. He was removed to the Falmouth Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Plummer was reportedly involved in a fight with a group of men along Falmouth Street on Tuesday at about 7:10 pm. One of the men allegedly used an object to stab him. His attackers fled the scene. He was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead. The Falmouth CIB is investigating .
