Tardy paperwork submissions delay adoption
Dear Claudienne
In February 2003, my brother was murdered in Jamaica. A few months after his death I started the proceedings to adopt my nephew. After many years of delay, which were in large part due to the misplacement of the documents that I submitted, I was granted the order to adopt by a judge at the family court in Kingston.
The paperwork was given to an officer of the court to prepare, and I was told that once the relevant paperwork was given to me, I would then be able to visit the Registrar General’s Department in order to apply for the child’s new birth certificate. The order to adopt was granted in June 2009.
Six months later, I still am unable to obtain the necessary documents from the family court officer in order to obtain the new birth certificate.
My sister visited the family court and was told by the officer that once the documents were ready he would call her. We have received no such call.
Furthermore, we have both made several attempts to contact this individual by way of telephone, but to no avail.
I am very dismayed that after waiting six years to adopt my nephew, I am now being forced to wait indefinitely to acquire the necessary paperwork to move forward.
I am therefore requesting your help in vaulting this final hurdle.

Dear CT
We spoke to the administrator of the Family Court and she said that the officer who was preparing the paperwork for the Order to Adopt was not at work. The Administrator phoned Tell Claudienne on Tuesday and said that she had located the documents. She said that you can come and collect the documents.
Good luck.
Dear Claudienne
I have a serious problem with the National Water Commission. I reside in East Kirkland Heights and almost every weekend there is no water, starting from Thursday most times. My neighbour’s daughter called the NWC and was told that the pump had burnt up. This is absolutely frustrating.
Please see what you can find out for me.
RC
Dear RC
Tell Claudienne contacted the National Water Commission and notes that a technical officer visited your premises. The pump which was the problem has been fixed. You have told us that you now have water every day.
Good luck.
