Water supply disruptions in Portland and St Mary
THE National Water Commission is warning that the Grants Level Treatment Plant in Portland is operating at 65 per cent efficiency due to a mechanical problem. Customers who are served by this facility, particularly those in the elevated areas of Port Antonio will experience low water pressure or no water conditions.
Affected areas include, John Town, Dolphin Bay, Bonnie View, Boundbrook and Anchovy Land Settlement.
Meantime, the Gibraltar Relift Station in St Mary is out of operation due to electrical problems being experienced with the pump at the facility. Customers in Gibraltar Heights will therefore have a disruption in their water supply.
Trucked water will be supplied to customers in both of these instances.
