From poker face to cartoon
With her weird, wonderful and wacky outfits, some might say Lady Gaga already has something of a cartoon quality. But now the Poker Face singer has been immortalised in animation for real and will feature as a comic book hero in the first of a series of celebrity comics.
The 23-year-old star, in her comic form, will appear on the cover of the premiere issue of the Fame series, appropriately the same name as her debut album. It will be published by Bluewater Productions, also behind the Female Force series, which has previously featured ‘Harry Potter’ author JK Rowling, ‘Twilight’ author Stephenie Meyer and US First Lady Michelle Obama.
The company will launch the first issue of the ‘culturally relevant’ celebrity comics on May 5, with Lady Gaga on the cover. Future cover stars include Robert Pattinson, Taylor Swift, David Beckham and 50 Cent.
Becoming a comic book star is appropriate for Lady Gaga, who markets her music around her outlandish outfits. She recently described her penchant for imaginative ensembles during her performances saying, “It’s part pop show, part performance art, part fashion installation.
“It came about because as an artiste, as a writer, as a woman; I feel I’ve evolved so much.” The US singer broke down in tears on stage this Christmas after she was told she had sold eight million albums worldwide. She was given the news after she stormed through a performance at the Nokia Theatre in LA.
And afterwards she tweeted: “Tonight for Christmas, they told me December marks one year since The Fame was released, and today we are eight million albums sold.”

Thanks, big sis!
She is a star of film and fashion and has flown the nest to study in the US, but Emma Watson hasn’t forgotten her roots. Executives at the brand signed up 17-year-old Alex for their latest national advertising campaign, shot by Mario Testino. It is the second campaign for Burberry that the 19-year-old has taken part in, and looks as though it will be as successful as her first.
