2nd int’l squash tourney for Couples next week
NEGRIL, Westmoreland – Squash with an international flavor returns to Couples Swept Away with the second staging of the Couples Swept Away Squash tournament next week.
Norman Samuels, Sports Manager for the hotel told the Observer West that entries from both local and overseas-based players had started coming in and they were expecting at least 30 entries by next week.
Top Jamaican players Steve Smith, last year’s Class 1 champion and Melissa Lue Yen along with Susan Kelly from Boston, USA who will defend her class 2 crown have confirmed their participation.
The event that is sponsored by Rockhouse Resort, Foundation Imports, Couples_Negril, Couples San-souci and Couples Tower Isle will follow the rules that govern international tournaments.
Players will compete in several categories Class A, B and C and will vie for trophies and weekend for two prizes.
