Ole Crack takes top honours
Ole Crack (Oswald Wong-Sam) cantered over rivals to emerge champion tipster in the monetary category at the end of the 2009 Capital Betting & Wagering/Jamaica Observer tipster competition.
Ole Crack, winner of the three quarterly prizes, ended the competition with $12,007.70 (positive), to finish clear of his eight rivals, as only At The Track (Kingsley Gentles) finished with any money ($2,575.70) at the end of the competition.
In the most wins category, Wayne McCulloch (Slip Saddle) came out on top with 306 wins to edge Clifford DaCosta (Shaggy, 304). They were followed by Leslie McLean (Hot Spur, 297); Kingsley Gentles (At The Track, 288); John Mills (Compu-Form, 286); Oswald Wong-Sam (Ole Crack, 277); Joshua Graham (Observer, 261) Paul Lowe (Iron Curtain, 253) and Perkins Hawthorne (Red Foxx, 248).
For his effort, Oswald Wong-Sam, who maintained a positive monetary value throughout the year, will receive the top prize money of $50,000, while McCulloch will receive $10,000 for finishing ahead in the most
wins category.
The Capital Betting & Wagering/Jamaica Observer tipster competitions allows tipsters to spend a nominal sum of $10,000 throughout the year on bets of
their choice.
