Cocktails With… Alicia McCalla
Alicia McCalla is set to be local television’s newest face. She’s the host of Hidden Treasures, a travel magazine programme that airs this evening at 5:30 pm on TVJ. The pretty young thing is sitting at the Jamaica Pegasus poolside bar all set to unearth who she really is.

A mixture; I like being both.

Jeans (she flashes a big grin), even though I’m in a black dress right now.

Comfy-chic

Sophia in York Plaza; she’s fabulous.

An alfresco setting and dinner by candlelight.
What’s your idea of the perfect man?
He must be a man who loves the Lord and I believe once he does that, everything else will fall into place.
What’s your latest obsession?
I don’t have obsessions really, but I enjoy watching Law & Order SVU and oh, mascara and lipgloss.
What’s on your iPod?
I love Da Truth.
What’s the best thing about being host of Hidden Treasures?
There are really two things: It gives me an opportunity to see Jamaica and its beauty in ways that I would otherwise be unable to. Secondly, I get to work with professionals who know what they are doing.
What projects are you working on?
Can’t let the cat out of the bag just yet, but along the lines of uncovering some of the island’s historic sites that aren’t widely known or frequently visited. It’s going to be a great season.

The joy of the Lord, that allows me to think positively.
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve been given?
“Success begins with successful thinking.”
And 10 years from now?
Right now I don’t really have a 10-year plan… each day is new so I’m just ready to embrace the possibilities.
