Granville seek rebound against Bamboo
BAMBOO, Hanover — With their hopes of advancing to the mid-season final dashed after being held by Mt Pelier on Sunday, former champions Granville will seek to move closer to the leaders when they face Bamboo in Hanover in the Captain’s Bakery Western Confed Super League today.
In other rescheduled games, Violet Kickers host Petersfield at the UDC field in Montego Bay and Exidos and Prosper meet at Bounty Hall in Trelawny.
Tomorrow, Catherine Hall will host Reno at the UDC field. These games were originally scheduled for January 10 but were called off due to heavy rains.
Despite being in fourth place on 16 points, Granville have the best scoring record in the league with 22 goals, but will be seeking their first win over the Hanover side after both games last season ended in 1-1 ties.
Bamboo have lost their last two games after going unbeaten in their previous six and have dropped from first to sixth place and will be desperate for a win.
Exidos are expected to get the better of last-placed Prosper who are coming off a 4-4 draw against Petersfield in Lucea on Sunday, while Violet Kickers should beat Petersfield despite not having the services of goalkeeper Warren Barrett and Randy Roberts — both of whom were sent off in their 0-2 loss to Seba on Sunday.
Today’s schedule:
Bamboo vs Granville @ Bamboo
Violet Kickers vs Petersfield @ UDC
Exidos vs Prosper @ Bounty Hall.
