Jamaican swimmers impress in Florida meet
TWO of Jamaica’s national squad representatives put on a good display at the NSU Davie Nadadores Senior Invitational Swim Meet held last Saturday at the Nova Southeastern Aquatics Complex in Plantation, Florida.
Victoria Ho, swimming for her club Lake Lytal Lightning, was impressive in capturing five medals. In her first event, she sounded a warning and raced home with the gold in the 100m backstroke in a time of 1:10.82, ahead of fellow country woman Alexia Royal-Eatmon, 1:11.93.
She went on to mine silver in both the 100m and the 200m freestyle in 1.01.42 and 2:11.52, respectively. Her other two medals, bronze came in the 50m freestyle in 28.62 and the 50m breaststroke in 38.00.
Royal-Eatmon claimed the gold in the 50m backstroke in 32.0 and bronze in the 100m butterfly in 1:08.07.
Other notable performance came from Timothy Wynter who swam a personal best in the 100m backstroke in 1:05.01.
