Go to jail, don’t pass go
Some say that when the game of envy becomes a game for blood, people often find themselves in jail before good sense can prevail. That’s what they say about those who’ve pulled rank to go ‘First World’ on a home-grown concoction. Word is, the big guys don’t play when they’ve been played. Never forget: the higher the stakes, the higher the price to pay.
The medium is the message
People say that Hillary Clinton’s fleeting visit was, without doubt, a very big deal. Pleasant manners aside, the question is, was the message received in the manner in which it was intended? Sometimes the message is in the medium, right?
Beware!
It is said that those who lie with dogs wake up with fleas. So naturally, people shouldn’t be surprised if those who play with rogue cops find themselves all cuffed up.
When things backfire
Talk is that the manoeuvre backfired so the masterminds have started planting the seeds of infectious malevolence in cells which dwell on neighbouring isles.
But Will It Arrive?
People don’t want the Lovebird to fly south, but no one has a solution, and as time runs out so, too, do the options. Many want to keep love in the air, but who will whisper it into the right ear?
Oh no, must all that dough go!
They say that the piece of Jamaica that flies gives the biggest chunk of dough to the enhancement fund that some live by. So when the bird flies away, will the big chunk go too? That’s the 45 per cent question.
Wishing Rex a speedy recovery
We are very sorry to hear of Professor Rex Nettleford’s illness and wish him the speediest recovery. Our Rex is a national treasure and we can’t imagine what Jamaica would have been like without his genius.
