Police blotters: three dead in road accidents and suspected suicide

THIRTY-six-year-old Sharon Barracks, bartender of Seven Ground, Kellits, Clarendon is suspected to have commit suicide at her home yesterday.
Police said about 11:30 am, a resident who was enquiring about Barracks found her body hanging from a piece of cloth at a door and called the police. The body was cut down and the scene processed. It was removed to the morgue for postmortem.
The Crofts Hill Police are investigating.
A 13-year-old boy died injuries sustained when he was hit by a motor truck on Studio One Boulevard, Kingston 5 on January 29.
Dead is Nicholas Reid of Upper Ivy Road, Kingston 5.
Police said about 10:30 pm, Reid was riding a bicycle along the roadway when he was hit by a Chevrolet motor truck which was heading towards downtown, Kingston. He sustained multiple injuries and was taken to the Kingston Public Hospital where he was pronounced dead. The driver of the truck was subsequently taken into police custody.
The Accident Investigation and Reconstruction Unit (AIRU) and the Cross Roads Police are investigating.
A 51-year-old technician died from injuries he sustained when his vehicle collided with a truck on the Dunn’s River main road, Ocho Rios, St Ann yesterday. Two passengers on the truck were injured.
Dead is Dalbert Matthews of Steer Town in the parish. Injured are Tonia Turnbull and Dwaine Fairweather both of Linstead, St Catherine.
Police said about 6:45 pm, Matthews was driving his Nissan Sunny motor car along the roadway towards St Ann’s Bay. On reaching a corner, he lost control of the vehicle which collided with a GMC motor truck which was traveling in the opposite direction. Matthews along with the two passengers of the truck received multiple injuries and were taken to the St Ann’s Bay Hospital where he succumbed and the two treated and released.
The Ocho Rios Traffic Department is investigating.
