Good job
Dear Editor,
I so appreciate the focused articles Desmond Allen has been doing on Allison Anderson-McLean. She taught me at UWI and I’ve read the stuff over the years about her at the Child Development Agency. I have a feeling she was being dealt a hard blow by Jamaicans for Justice, etc.
We’re always looking for one Messiah and in turn one scapegoat to blame.
The most thankless job I’ve ever felt is any to do with children – from parenting to teaching (I teach too) to the level of responsibility someone like Allison has with our children, the work done uplifting our young people, not like pot-bellied politicians and those in quasi-government agencies. Some folks try to undermine good work, and I’m happy she used the term in one of the articles, “a good leg run”.
I’m sure she wasn’t perfect in everything but I’m positive our chldren are in a much better place for the likes of an Allison. Let’s hope Mrs Gomes of JFJ has a recommendation for the CDA job!
