Cavell Gale was an enemy to none
There was a massive turn out of family, friends and close associates for Cavell Gale, former secretary of Jamaica Producers Group during the Thanksgiving Service to celebrate her life at the Providence Methodist Church on Old Hope Road, in St Andrew last Wednesday.
The church hall was filled to capacity as scores of family members came out to pay their final farewell.
Gale was promoted to glory on Friday, March 5 after suffering from a brief illness. She was 70 years old.
“She was a friend and an associate to hundreds but an enemy to none,” said one close friend, a spokesperson for the loved ones who all agreed that Gale – during her time on earth – had touched the hearts and lives of all she knew.
High praise for the daughter of St Mary, even came even from clergyman, Byron Chambers, minister at the service who said he knew Gale, who was a faithful servant of God and member of the church for many years.
“Gale was a woman who was strong in her faith. She was a dedicated Christian,” said the pastor.
Dr Marshall Hall, group managing director of Jamaica Producers Group LTD and former boss of Gale reminisced on her pleasant personality.
“She [Gale] was not only a model employee but she was an example to those who knew her,” said Dr Hall.
“She will be sadly missed,” said Hall who said that since Gale passed away persons from all over the world have been calling to give their condolences.
Meanwhile Reverend Chambers in his message read from St John 14: 1-6 a section of which read as follows.
“Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also,” the scripture read.
According to the pastor with those words family members were reminded that with the exemplary life that Gale lived she had secured a place in heaven.
Another close associate of the decease, Joy Baugh read from Romans 8:31-39 to indicate her belief that Gale was now in the arms of the lord.
“What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all–how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?” the scripture read.
Gale was born in St Mary to mother Daphne Grace and father, Henry Clifford Cousins.
She leaves behind husband Herman, daughter Lorraine, sisters Joan and Claudia, brothers, Cecil, David and Michael, several in-laws and other relatives.
