“Fear none of these things which thou shalt suffer: behold, the Devil shall cast some of you into Prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days: be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee the crown of life.” – Revelation 2:10

Easter is the season to pause and reflect on the significance of Jesus’ life, faith, preachings, actions, decisions, death and resurrection. God’s plan to rescue us from sin was to send his son, have him tormented and sacrificed on our behalf. But just as how Jesus was tried when he was in the wilderness, before his crucifixion, so shall each of us have to endure tribulation from the Devil, at some point in our lives.

However, the scripture above warns us that we should not be fearful of suffering, because at the end of it all, we will be given the crown of life. We should try to apply what this Scripture implies to our spiritual life, because it will assist us in becoming: calmer, stronger and fearless, among other blessings. Some of us have already begun to undergo the suffering the Scripture speaks of, such as: poverty, peer pressure, broken families and the desire to disobey God and our parents. however do not be discouraged. The Creator sees us all, the things we positively do and fear not, he will reward us like Jesus for them with the crown of life.

During the upcoming holiday season, we at TEENage implore you to use your time according to the purpose of the holiday. Not to solely enjoy the famous food manufacturers’ misguidig or attend most events we usually do over the upcoming weekend. Take time out to conduct some reflection on what Christ’s death means to us. Remember Jesus had to endure suffering, be tried in the wilderness, cast into prison, crucified, died, rose from the dead and was given the crown of life. However, we need to prepare ourselves to fear none of these things we shall endure.

Always remember: “Jesus was our perfect sacrifice; like him we should try to be God’s perfect sacrifice too.”
