JCDC has new 16-member board
MINISTER of Youth, Sports and Culture Olivia Grange on Wednesday announced a new, 16-member board of directors for the Jamaica Cultural Development Commission (JCDC).
The new board, which was approved by the Cabinet, will serve for a period of two years effective February 1, 2010.
The members are:
* Hugh Nash (Chairman)
* Rochelle Cameron (Deputy Chairman)
* Howard McIntosh
* Syl Castro
* Eddie Shoucair
* Jennifer Lim
* Cheryl Ryman
* Dennis Archer
* Cecil Warren
* Nancy McLean
* Kenneth Shaw
* Geoffrey Shields
* Bishop Ronald Blair
* Vernon Darby
* Delroy Morgan
* Dorothy Carter-Bradford
“A deliberate effort was made to ensure that this new board was not as large as previous boards in view of the current constraints,” Grange said.
According to Grange, the previous board — which consisted of 30 members — resigned en bloc in January to allow her the opportunity to realign the JCDC to meet its national objectives in the context of the current challenges.
