Springfield end Comfort’s streak in Div One
RACE COURSE, Clarendon — Comfort’s three-game winning streak in the FX Trader Clarendon Division One was snapped last Thursday when they played to a 0-0 scoreline with Springfield at Springfield, but are now sole leaders of Zone One by one point.
Comfort, who were failing to score for the first time in four outings lead the zone with 10 points — one ahead of second-placed Cockpit FC, whose game against Abassian at Waterwell was postponed due to a shortage of referees.
Springfield inched to seven points, but stayed third ahead of Portland Cottage on six.
At Bodles on Wednesday, Free Town edged Cross United 1-0 to take sole leadership of Zone Four on nine points, while the Cherry Tree/Four Paths, Harlem/Treadlight and Youths/Chatteau games all ended in 1-1 stalemates.
The competition will continue with three 3:30 pm games today. Rock River SC play New Longsville at the Turners Oval, while Spartan FC and Union Stars will meet in Zone Two, as Treadlight host Cherry Tree Gardens at Treadlight in Zone Three.
