Ocean Splash — The Refix for James Bond Beach
Since Ocean Splash ‘009 was cancelled due to December’s torrential down-pour at James Bond Beach, entertainment firm Triple T Production returns with a brand new line up for Ocean Splash — The Refix, a celebrity football match and concert on the shores of ‘Agent 007’s’ signature spot in Oracabessa, St Mary on Sunday, May 2.
Dancehall artiste, Mavado, will be one of the featured performers at Ocean Splash Refix live concert, which also includes D’Angel, the ‘gangstress’ Stacious, roots reggae soldiers Prestige, I-Octane, Vybrant, and Fyakin, Erup, Tiana, Hawkeye, and Bryan Art.
Dancers Dyema, Iyla, and Back It Up from the island’s weekly Dutty Fridaze street party, will adding flavour to the dance party which will feature popular sound system Jam Rock and Dutty Fridaze’s Slim J and Fire 20.
“After Ocean Splash ‘009 was cancelled in December, everyone kept insisting that we set a new date – the players, performers, media, people who wanted to come to the event -the response was overwhelming,” says Triple T Production CEO Tasz Smith. “I named this event Ocean Splash -The Refix because we remixed the line- up to enhance the event. The addition of Mavado, Twin of Twins, Stacious, Ding Dong, and Erup definitely brings an extra edge. In addition to his original role on the celebrity team, I-Octane will also be performing, which gives the stage show a nice balance. This time we ‘re-fixed’ the show so that it is exactly right.”
Led by team captain dancehall deejay Wickerman, the Ocean Splash celebrity football team, comprising Prestige, Aidonia, Twin of Twins, Ding Dong, RDX, I-Octane, Vybrant, John Hype, Fyakin, Delly Ranx, Mad Cobra, Captain Barkey, Tony Curtis, Lukie D, Jigsy King, Galaxy P, Mega Banton, Beetle Bailey, Ninja Kid, Little Chris, Mitch, Teacha D, Mr. Peppa, Kashu Man, Higher Boukie, Stikki, and Blacka Pride, will take on Oracabessa’s local champions the 007 All-Stars to kick off the day-long festivities, which also includes special giveaways and prizes.
