MoBay Boys Club edge Juniors
MONTEGO BAY, St James – Montego Bay Boys Club are the first semi-finalists in the St James Football Association’s Claro Division One competition after edging Zone A leaders Juniors FC 2-1 in their third round cross-zone game at the UDC field on Tuesday.
This was Boys Club’s ninth win of the season and it took them to an unbeatable 28 points in Zone B, 15 clear of second placed Champion FC.
Despite the loss, Juniors FC are still leading Zone A with 18 points from 12 games, one more than Little Miami’s 17 from 11 games with Rosemount in third place on 16 from 10 games.
Corston Gray gave Boys Club the lead in the 33rd minute but Garnet Wint equalised for Juniors FC in then 62nd before Leroy Christie scored the winner in the 79th minute.
At Tucker, Phillip McDonald scored twice in the first half to guide Upsetters to a big 5-2 win over Champion FC.
Upsetters, who were winning their second game of the season, led 3-0 at half time and were up 5-0 before Champion managed to score.
Upsetters scored three times in an eight-minute span as McDonald scored in the 18th minute before Devon Ramsey added another a minute later before McDonald got his second in the 26th minute.
The goal rush continued in the second half as Damion Cameron made it 4-0 in the 47th minute before Kirk Williams added another in the 53rd minute.
Noland Brown scored Champions’ first goal in the 70th minute before Dwight Nelson added another seven minutes later.
