TPC cracks down on illegal buildings
FALMOUTH, Trelawny — The Trelawny Parish Council (TPC)is cracking down on individuals who continue to flout its building rules.
Since last month, more than 10 stop order notices have been served on persons in the parish who failed to apply to the council for building approvals before commencing construction.
TPC chairman and Mayor of Falmouth, Colin Gager said the local authority will not relent in its drive to bring order to the construction sector in the parish.
“No one is above the law in this parish, once a developer is found to be in breach of the council’s regulation, the full weight of the law will be applied,” Gager stressed.
He said the council’s drive to have developers comply with its regulations is aimed at ensuring the integrity of the structures they are building.
” We would not want to see anyone being injured as a result of a building collapsing due to defective structure,” he said.
