Tech 5

This week’s Tech 5, its back to cool and interesting gadgets for our TEEN family. TEENage truly hopes that you have enjoyed the trips to and from our virtual gaming world, to our gadgets.

Sharp 3D HD camera

The Sharp 3D HD camera is the first high-definition 3D camera for mobile phones. The camera can capture 720p 3D video images using a progressive scanning system, and incorporates functions to process the image data output from the left and right cameras. With colour, timing and optical axis control synchronising processes, this 3D device will create a new and interesting way to shoot personal films. Also, due to the camera’s fast readout technology images can be easily captured in high-resolution HD mode. The device can also appear in netbooks and in the Nintendo DS, which already has a 3D version in the pipeline using a sharp screen, due to its high-density mounting technology that keeps the size down. Imagine, your own personal 3D camera and video recording device in a mobile phone. Can someone say multitask?

LG Ally Qwerty

Said to be launching in conjunction with the Iron Man 2 movie and preloaded with commercial themes and videos, the LG Ally Qwerty smartphone runs with Android 2.1 OS. The phone is featured with a 3.2-inch touchscreen and side-slide QWERTY keyboard and is also equip with a 1GHz processor for GPS support, 3G and WiFi connectivity. This mid-range multimedia handset which combines social networking capabilities and customizable home screens, comes along with a 4GB microSD memory card and is so varied in its capabilities and features, it is indeed fit for Iron Man himself. The phone and its user will become one.

Microsoft Kin One

The Microsoft Kin One is a small, portrait slider with a one-hand friendly keyboard and a five-mega-pixel camera with 4GB of storage capacity. Created for social networking, because it gives easy access to various social networking sites it also has a windows operating system so that the users are allowed to operate almost similar to their computer system. in addition to being touchscreen, it is also designed with a QWERTY keypad and features Microsoft’s music service, Zune and camera. The phone is also a one of a kind, with its unique, sleek look that would make anyone interested in having one.

Samsung W960 Amoled 3D

Created by Korean manufacturer Samsung, the Samsung W960 Amoled 3D is the world’s first 3D handset, that can be used without the glasses. The phone is 3.2 inches, with a 240×400 WQVGA resolution. Features like the 3D option that can be switched on and off with a button, HSPA connectivity, Bluetooth, microSD support and the Samsung TouchWiz 2.0 custom UI and a 3.2 mega-pixel camera gives this phone a notch above the rest. In addition to the already cool features that this phone has, it also operates on a CDMA platform and runs on the Samsung’s own user interface “TouchWiz 2.0”. It boasts a DMB-T TV tuner and is integrated with MP3 and MP4 player for users to enjoy their favorite songs while on the go, while being preloaded with Document viewer which supports Word, Excel, PowerPoint and PDF formats as well.

Transcend PCI Express USB

The Transcend PCI Express USB 3.0 card comes with two high-speed ports and an easy-to-install add-on card that allows for the connection to USB 3.0 compatible peripherals to their desktop PC. In this way, the individual will be able to experience data transfer rates up to ten times faster than USB 2.0 with optimized power efficiency. The PCI USB 3.0 Express Card is also fully compatible with Windows 7, and is backed by a two-year warranty. This piece of equipment is a great and affordable buy for those persons who do not want to replace their entire machine just for the purpose of the USB port.
