Forlan OK after knock in practice
SOUTH AFRICA 2010
KIMBERLEY, South Africa (AP) — Uruguay striker Diego Forlan managed to complete his team’s first World Cup practice in South Africa yesterday despite picking up a knock on his left leg.
The Atletico Madrid player collided with midfielder Walter Gargano during a training session, five days before Uruguay opens against France on Friday.
Forlan fell to the ground and groaned with pain, but recovered and continued with the practice.
Uruguay team spokesman Matias Faral says “it was a minor thing, just a knock. He finished the training normally.”
