‘Eggy Man’ murdered near Grants Pen

Cops say he was no saint

HOMICIDE detectives from the St Andrew North Police Division are now probing the murder of a man on Old Church Road near the community of Grants Pen this afternoon.

He has been identified as Orlando Crawford, also called ‘Eggy Man’ of a Grants Pen address.

Police say Crawford was attacked and shot repeatedly by unknown gunmen.

A police officer from the Constant Spring Police Station said Crawford was a member of a gang whose stomping ground is an area known as ‘Cruiser Bank’ in Grants Pen.

“He was certainly no saint,” the cop said.

The St Andrew North Police Division and the community of Grants Pen has experienced a significant reduction in murders.

Last year more than 90 murders were recorded in the division between January 1 and September 31, while 50 murders have been recorded in the division over the same period this year.
