LTM pays homage to Heroes
LETTERS for Emancipendence, the LTM Pantomime Company’s dramatic salute to the National Heroes returns to the Little-Little Theatre for Heroes weekend with performances October 17 at 6:00 pm and on National Heroes’ Day, Monday, October 18 at 2:00 pm and 6:00 pm.
Letters for Emancipendence highlights the Heroes from Nanny to Sam Sharpe, Paul Bogle, George William Gordon, to Marcus Garvey, Alexander Bustamante and Norman Manley, in a format which makes use of dance and music, incorporating texts from historical sources as well as contemporary references. The script, co-ordinated by Barbara Gloudon, includes modern interpretations with comic moments as well as the historical flavour of the past.
Letters for Emancipendence had its first performances on the Emancipation weekend and returns for the current run. The production holds interest for young persons as well as adults.
