Take Mismyrtleboyrichie in Ruckus Trophy
JIGZY Blade’s improving bay colt Mismyrtleboyrichie came running on strongly after 800 metres for a 7 1/2 lengths victory in his debut Open Allowance contest on December 8.
That behind him, he now looks forward to solidifying his standings as the legitimate top foreign-bred two-year-old in the land by tackling 10 hungry age-group rivals in the 18th running of the $1,300,000 Sweet Ruckus Trophy (Gr.111) feature at Caymanas Park today. First post at 12:30 pm.
Also involved in the 1,400 metres Graded Stakes contest for native-bred and imported two-year-olds is fellow US-bred filly and chief adversary Dance So Sweet along with a good-looking pair of fellow US-bred runners colt There Goes Justin ridden by Winston Griffiths and filly Sandsand, the mount of Dick Cardenas, who will be making their stakes debut.
Mismyrtleboyrichie, bred in the US by Hickory Ridge Farm, was behind the leaders at the top of the stretch in the 1,200 metres Open Allowance anchoring event on last but unleashed a furious move under Omar Walker that blew away leader Dance So Sweet to win by a very comfortable margin. They renew rivalry once more with a similar weight differential and Shane Ellis who was aboard Dance So Sweet again has the call for trainer Gary Subratie.
It was the Mingun colt’s fourth consecutive victory in his sixth-start career and his third on the trot over Dance So Sweet.
Out of the Two Puch mare Two Punch Christy Mismyrtleboyrichie looks to have a bit more by way of competition in the 11-horse field but looked so convincing when winning on last it will be difficult not to see him winning again after considering that he is even better suited to the increased journey. With trainer Tony Kirlew looking to maintain that winning aptitude in his talented juvenile, he has expanded the training routine of the bay son of Mingun to meet what could be his toughest most recent assignment.
Mismyrtleboyrichie, who helped to cement Walker with his fourth consecutive Jockeys’ Championship by providing him with his 99th win of the season, will again have the four-time champion jockey astride.
