St George’s hold Sporting to 1-1 draw
CLARENDON PARK, Clarendon — Relegationthreatened St George’s SC staged a gallant fight but could only muster a 1-1 draw against Sporting Central Academy in yesterday’s Digicel Premier League match at Brancourt.
Sporting signalled their intent with a slippery second-minute attack, but Gregory Lewis let his team down with a poor finish from six yards.
Four minutes later, Delroy James made them pay as he slotted St George’s into the lead with their first attack.
However, Lewis redeemed himself with an angled shot into the right corner, before the visitors were denied a secondhalf winner by the crossbar.
