Holland, Manning hunt semi-final berths
MONTEGO BAY, St James — Western Conference teams Holland and Manning seek a second win and a place in the semi-finals of the ISSA/KFC all-island basketball play-offs today.
At Montego Bay Cricket Club, Holland — the Under-16 champions and Group two leaders — will take on St Jago, while Mannings, the Under-19 runners-up, will face Manchester in a rescheduled game at Belair.
Western Under-19 champions Cornwall College will also face Hydel in a ‘must-win’ game at MoBay Cricket Club after they were beaten by over 20 points by Belair in their first game.
Holland are coming off a win over Manchester in their first ever national appearance and will hope home court advantage can help them past St Jago.
Mannings, meanwhile, turned back Meadowbrook on Monday and will face Manchester, who was also up against Meadowbrook on Wednesday.
Cornwall must bounce back from their worst loss in years if they are to have any chance of advancing, but will be up against the Southern Conference runners-up.
