Cocktails with…Tiffany Hamilton
The beautiful and equally erudite Tiffany Hamilton, legal partner at Hamilton & Hamilton and lecturer in the Faculty of Law at the University of Technology, is sipping vino and soaking up the warm afternoon sunshine at Idlers’ Rest, Black River. She’s totally at ease as she enjoys the scenic family-owned spot and shares a bit about herself with us.
What are you sipping today?
A glass of Pinot Noir.
What kind of day are you having?
A relaxing one, thankfully. It’s been a busy week.
Socialite or homebody?
A mixture of both.
Flats or stilettos?
Flats… even though I’m what you might call vertically challenged.
Who or what inspires you?
My mum. She’s the most amazing woman I know!
Who does your hair?
Quite a few people, but mainly Andrea Williams in Kingston and Pat at Celeb’s in Montego Bay.
Who does your nails?
Jul, at Celeb’s.
What perfume are you splashing?
Narciso Rodriguez.
What’s in your handbag?
Pretty much what’s in every girl’s handbag. (Laughs) Ever notice how this question elicits the same response week after week?
What’s your ideal relaxation spot?
Idlers’ Rest, of course!
What’s your idea of the perfect date?
One that requires little or no planning on my part. He should surprise me!
What’s your idea of the perfect man?
Ah, the elusive perfect man (Laughs)… when are we going to stop pretending there is such a thing?
What’s your latest obsession?
Running. I’ve done a couple of marathons, but my goal for this year is to break two hours in the half-marathon. I’m so close!
What’s in your car stereo?
Everything from Barbra Streisand to Vybz Kartel.
What’s the best thing about being an attorney-at-law/lecturer?
It’s rewarding for me to be able to practise law with my father and build upon the strong foundation that he’s set. With lecturing, I enjoy seeing students grasp legal concepts that initially seem so complex.
What projects are you currently working on?
We are putting the finishing touches on the Everglades Centre, our new conference centre across the street from Idlers’ Rest.
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve been given?
Don’t be afraid to take risks in life. No risk, no reward.
And 10 years from now?
Who knows? Check me again in 2021!
