Have a Jamaica tea party movement
Isn’t it time Jamaica itself developed its own tea party movement? This party would be to counter the insanity that exists in the two major political parties which, between them, have succeeded in stifling Jamaicans every chance they get. The idea of Jamaica’s own tea party isn’t to be taken lightly as the average middle- and working-class man whose ambition is to do an honest day’s work for an honest day’s pay is currently a simmering issue.
Like the gas riots of 1999, the time is ripe for a movement across Jamaica to reject both parties and their chosen representatives in favour of people whose integrity is sound. The political grandstanding and championing of who is for the middle class rings hollow on both parties as they destroy the fabric which sustains the middle class.
Recently, the Opposition leader said any government who destroys the middle class is wicked and this current administration is doing just that. Statements like that is why a tea party is necessary, as under her administration the middle class was virtually wiped out by their policies. It is fair to say that one party is seen for big business and the other for the ghetto freeness mentality. Therefore, the average Jamaican needs a party that represents his voice. The time for real change is now and it should start in the middle. Those at the top have only a vested interest in maintaining what is there, while those at the bottom seek to drag all of us down. So the middle is obviously best, as it is the part that supports both those at the top and at the bottom. After all, can anything solid exist without its centre?
